Happy New Year!!!
Posted in Uncategorized on 01/02/2010 06:47 pm by adminIt’s 2010! I’m SO excited to see what God has in store for me and my family this year. As I pondered on this new year and dreamed and plotted, I realized I have a tendency to overcomplicate things. Especially New Year’s resolutions. The reason I mention this is I feel God leading me to keep my focus on one simple thing this year. So I’m doing something very different this year. Instead of breaking my life down into different areas such as God, marriage, family, etc. and then writing a list of goals, I am instead going to keep my focus on the one and only thing that really truly matters. Here it is:
“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
These were Jesus instructions to his disciples in Mark 16:15 shortly after he had been crucified and had risen from the dead. Of all the things he could’ve said, this was his instruction. So basically, my New Year’s resolution is simply stated
“I will make known to others through my words and actions the good news that Jesus died and rose from the dead so we can be saved from hell.”
The reason I feel this is so important is because of this Scripture:
“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard! You do not know when that time will come. It’s like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with an assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch.
Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back - whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’”

It is a great resolution. Sometimes you can do that by sending missionaries out to the rest of the world where you cannot be. Oh,,,, you did that. That’s why we are here.
