Home

We got back home around 7PM from spending Christmas in Raleigh, NC with Kenny’s parents and sister and her family.  It was fun.  I am totally exhausted and still sick, yuck!  So please pray for me.  We had a wonderful Christmas and I’m looking forward to the New Year!

Running

Before I got pregnant, I was running two miles a few times a week and was really enjoying it.  Then I got pregnant so I had to stop.  Now I would really like to get back into it but I have a problem.  I HATE running on treadmills so I refuse to join a gym.  I don’t mind running in the cold… actually I prefer it to running in hot weather but I don’t have a place where I can run that’s close to home that I feel safe at.  Our neighborhood has a nice park but I don’t like to go there by myself.  Hmm… if anyone has suggestions that would be GREAT!

Ho ho ho!

Had a GREAT evening with my family at my bro Jonathan’s house tonight.  All my brothers and my dad were there and we ate yummy yummy food and exchanged presents.  I got some awesome gifts and Kate got her first Christmas present - a very cute stuffed elephant from Uncle Jonathan and Aunt Tiffany.  More than anything though, I really enjoyed spending time with family.  I love you guys! <3

Great Quote

I had never heard this quote before but it is really good.  Very thought provoking.  I have always had great respect for General Patton.  What an amazing man!

“”It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.”
- General George S. Patton, Jr

So Much Better

I feel SO much better today!  I guess it takes four full days of antibiotics before I can start really feeling better.  I’m still not 100% so please keep praying for me.  I just feel a little weak and tired so hopefully I’ll feel 100% soon.

I just wanted to say how awesome my in-laws are and how wonderful my husband is.  Gary and Peggy watched Kate for me on Friday and again on Monday so I could rest and I know I would not be doing as well today without their help.  Thank you!  And to my wonderful husband, thank you for watching Kate for me this weekend and going shopping and cooking yummy cheese tortellini so that I could rest and get better.  I really appreciate it.  Y’all are the best! :-D

Sore Throats and Sinus Infections

I woke up Thursday with a sore throat.  Other than that, I felt fine.  By 10AM, I felt really tired.  By afternoon, I was full blown sick.  Chills, body aches, post nasal drip, I’m pretty sure a fever, the whole nasty ten yards.  I was worried about it being something very contagious as I don’t want to get Kate or Kenny sick.  So my wonderful in-laws watched Kate for me Friday and I went to the doctor.  The doctor said it’s a sinus infection.  They said my symptoms easily pointed to the flu or the swine flu even but they think it’s a sinus infection because of my past history.  I tend to agree.  I ran out of allergy medicine about three weeks ago and kept forgetting to get it at the store.  I’m pretty sure that’s why I’m sick.  Stupid allergies!  The doc gave me an antibiotic and I’ve been trying to rest all weekend.  I feel slightly better but not as good as I should feel after three days of resting.  This totally sucks!  Please pray for me to get better.  I really need to very soon.  I need to have a lot of my Christmas shopping done before Thursday night (my family’s having a get together) and I just have a lot to do.  I really can’t afford to stay sick much longer.  The doc said if I don’t feel better by Tuesday to call them back and they would prescribe me a different antibiotic.  Please please pray.  I covet your prayers.  I’m so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends.  And if I haven’t called you back in the last few days, I’m sorry but at least now you know why.  I’ll make it through my voicemail and callbacks when I start feeling better.

Until then, I leave you with this advice.  Hand sanitize like crazy!  And double up on the Vitamin C.  It’s gonna be a long winter.

It’s really hard for me to come up with a list of things I want for Christmas but I’ve had a few people ask me what I want, so here are a few things I’ve come up with:

Blog Slacker

I know I’ve been slacking on updates lately but we traveled for Thanksgiving, I’ve been without sleep because Kate’s schedule has been all screwed up from traveling, my house is a wreck, I haven’t returned several phone calls and I’ve been busy with client work this week.  So, I’ve had some other things on my mind.  And since my house is still a wreck, I’m going to keep this brief.  I’ll update on how great life is later with more details.  Love ya!
