Busy

I can’t ever seem to keep up with life.  I have so much to do and not enough time to do it.

I’m constantly on the quest for ways to organize my life to help me combat the “busy” problem.  Do you have anything you do that helps you conquer “busy”?  Or helps you better organize yourself?  I can use all the tips I can get.

Death

Kenny, Kate and I made a trip to Missouri for Kenny’s grandpa’s (Peggy’s dad) funeral this last week.  I didn’t know him very well but I am glad he left this world a Christian.  I am sure of his final resting place and look forward to getting to know him better on the other side.

Most people don’t know that Peggy’s dad was not a Christian for most of his life and, on the contrary, hated God.  Peggy has told me that he didn’t like that she went to church and argued with her frequently about Scripture in an attempt to discourage her from going.  She persisted though and has prayed for her father’s salvation her entire life.  Sometime in his later years, Peggy’s dad had a heart change.  I’m not sure what caused it but he turned away from his hatred of God and embraced the grace and love God so freely offers to everyone.

Something that was said in the funeral service that was really cool is that in the hospital he was so vocal in singing “Amazing Grace” on a regular basis that they moved him to a more private room.  What an inspiration and such a great testimony of God’s grace!!  It also encourages me to persist in praying for the salvation of my family and friends, just like Peggy did for her dad.  We never know what impact our prayers will have.  Never give up!  Always have hope and faith because God is faithful!

Thank you Grandpa Rhoads and Peggy for your example and for being an inspiration to me.

Please keep Peggy and her family in your prayers during this difficult time.  He left behind his wife of 33 years, Naoma Louise and their three daughters, Peggy, Cindy and Jackie, as well as his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  We definitely appreciate it!

Abortion

I am 100% against abortion.  The reason I am against abortion is simple.  God clearly states in the Bible, “You shall not murder.”  Abortion is murder.  Anyone who argues otherwise is severely misguided and deluded, a.k.a. wrong.  I think God will punish America (and may already be) for allowing this atrocity to continue in our nation.  I hope our nation will soon change legislation regarding abortion so innocent children will have the opportunity for life.

The reason I bring this up is the choice Obama has made for his Health and Human Services Secretary - Kathleen Sebelius.  Bad choice… really really bad choice.

In the year 2005, 1.21 million abortions were performed in the United States (http://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/fb_induced_abortion.html).  In the past our nation has experienced the atrocities of slavery and has since changed this horrible practice in order to respect the rights of human lives.  I continue to pray and hope we will learn from our past mistakes and soon do the same for these millions of innocent babies that are never given the opportunity for life, the most basic of human rights.

Last Ditch Effort…

I am getting rid of my cats.  Please let me know if you or someone you know will give them a good home.  If no one responds by the end of this week I am going to put a post on Craigslist and then, if I don’t hear anything from that, take them to the pound.

I have bad allergies and my doctor highly recommended I get rid of them.  He pretty much said my allergies will never get better unless I get rid of the cats.  I love my kitties but I would love to live a healthy life too and unfortunately I can’t have both.  I’ve been putting this off for a long time because I would like them to have a good home but I have not had any success so far in finding someone that is interested.  Please let me know if you or someone you know would like to give two kitties a good home.

Romeow and Juliecat are about 7 years old, are brother and sister, orange tabbies, about 15 pounds each and very loving.  Romeow loves to eat and loves to sit on your lap while you’re watching movies.  Juliecat is a little kitty princess and a bit more shy but also very loving and friendly.

Thanks everyone!

1 month

Kate is now one month old.  Yippee!  We’ve survived!  LOL :-)  Naw… being a parent is great.  Very rewarding… also very exhausting but extremely rewarding.  My heart melts every time my precious little daughter smiles at me.  I love it!
