God’s Blessings
Posted in Uncategorized on 02/14/2009 11:21 am by adminHappy Valentine’s Day! I have the most wonderful husband in the world and I’m not just saying that. I’ve been with Kenny since I was 17 and, a decade later, I cannot imagine being with anyone else. I should rephrase that… I don’t want to imagine being with anyone else. He truly is the love of my life and I am so blessed that God has blessed me with a wonderful, godly, talented and fun person to spend my days here on earth with. And even better, I am so blessed he will be a wonderful father to our children. I’m truly excited about our future together and whatever God has in store for us.
Baby Shower
Posted in Uncategorized on 02/07/2009 12:00 pm by adminThe church staff ladies threw me a baby shower last night. It was amazing! They totally outdid themselves. The whole Planet Kids room was bedecked in black and pink polka dots. They even had the stage lights set to pink. They had finger foods of all varieties and a beautiful polka dotted cake. It was a lot of fun and I’m very honored that everyone who came did. It was very humbling to see so many people there supporting us as new parents.
At the end, Laura had everyone gather around me and pray for me, Kenny and baby Kate. I know God has awesome things in store for Kate. She will be raised in the fear of the Lord and I hope she grows to trust and love Him as much or even more than I do. Our personal walk with the Lord is such a great adventure!
For those of you that like baby stuff, here’s an abbreviated list of some of the items we were blessed with last night:
- Car seat
- Stroller
- Tons of diapers
- Tons of baby wipes
- 32 pairs of socks… LOL
- 12 dozen pink roses (thanks Chuck)
- Soft blankets
- Hats, mittens, booties and cute outfits of all sorts
- Washcloths and a bathrobe (how adorable!)
- Bottle sterilizer
- Diaper bag (Kenny liked this one)
- Rainforest lights and sounds mirror
- Rattles and play toys
- Pacifiers and bottles
- You get the point
Now all we need is the baby. ![]()
Last Night
Posted in Uncategorized on 02/06/2009 12:10 am by adminTonight was the last night of our childbirth classes. We got a tour of the baby delivering portion of the hospital, learned how to swaddle a baby, etc. So now I should be prepared for childbirth. ;-) LOL! Yeah, right. Actually, I do feel like the classes have been very helpful. I am much more informed now than I would otherwise be and that makes me feel a little better.
I also went to the doctor today and I’m 1 cm dilated, which translated into plain old non-medical terms of English really means absolutely nothing. But at least it’s something to blog about. He he…
