Tomorrow…

is my Mom’s wedding.  She’s getting married.  Kenny is performing the ceremony and my grandma, grandpa, Aunt June and her husband, Pete, have all come down from New York for the occasion.  Jonathan and Tiffany are coming up tomorrow and spending the day/night with us, which is awesome.  It’ll be nice to have all the family together.

We went to the Chop House tonight and my grandma and aunt brought presents for Kate, which I was totally not expecting.  Aunt June got her two outfits.  Aunt Judy got her two outfits and a gift card for my choice of baby gifts from an assortment online.  My mom got me a Willow Tree figurine of a love angel.  Very beautiful.  And my grandma made a baby blanket that is pink and green quilted Beatrix Potter.  Absolutely awesome!  She also made a baby book that is the ABC’s in Beatrix Potter theme.  I’m very excited!  They match the way the nursery is decorated right now - green with Beatrix Potter border.  I’ve been debating whether or not to change it and now I think I’m going to leave it as is, since I have a blanket that matches.  Pretty cool!

Christmas Break

I am having an awesome Christmas break!  Woohoo!  Life is good.  I finished cleaning out the nursery yesterday.  Now I just need to get the crib set up and move my dresser in.  I also need to finish washing everything for little Miss Kate.  Yes!  It feels SO good to accomplish something.

We took the Suburban full of stuff to Goodwill on Friday and donated it all.  It feels so good to get this stuff out of our house and to never have to think about it again.  I’ve never realized it before but stuff is so stressful.  I’m slowly working on the rest of the house and I think this afternoon I will make a dent in the dining room.  :-)  I am determined to finish this organizing/throwing away/decluttering mission.  Nothing will stand in my way!  Muhaha!

I also went to Wal-Mart yesterday and used my Christmas money to buy a fluffy white comforter and two huge king sized fluffy white pillows, just like they have in hotels and on cruise ships.  I love it!  I feel like a queen.  Now I need to save up the money for blackout curtains so the light doesn’t disturb our restful slumber and maybe some cool curtains or blinds.  I really like the bamboo blinds that roll up… maybe I’ll get some of those.

Merry Christmas!

Happy Birthday Jesus! :-)  I hope everyone has a relaxing and blessed day with friends and family.

Kate

I know this post is going to sound funny to some of you.  They just came out with the top 50 baby girl’s names of 2008.  Katherine and Kate did not make the top 50 and I am SO excited about that!  I know it sounds ridiculous but I really don’t want her to have a popular name.  I love the name Katherine and Kate but I wanted to choose a name for her that wasn’t common either.  I think we found a winner!  Woohoo! :-)

Romeow and Juliecat

I’ve been procrastinating this forever but I need to do it.  I am giving away my cats to a good home.  I don’t want to separate them since they are brother/sister and haven’t been separated from birth.  I think being apart would kill them.  They are wonderful and I don’t want to get rid of them, but I am very allergic and my doctor said I will continue to get sick regularly unless I get rid of them.  So with a heavy heart I ask for your help to find these adorable and sweet kitties a good and loving home.  Please let me know if you know of anyone that is interested.

Christmas Shopping

Normally I do all our Christmas shopping by myself and normally I start at the beginning of December.  This year is very different.  Because of us having to put a new transmission in Kenny’s truck, we didn’t have our Christmas money saved up like we normally do so I wasn’t able to start shopping at the beginning of December.  That means as of yesterday I hadn’t bought a single Christmas gift (other than the Wii Kenny and I bought each other on Black Friday).  Needless to say I was starting to panic because I have 12 people to buy Christmas presents for and only a few days left to do it in.  Ahh!!!

Well, then my wonderful husband suggested we do all our Christmas shopping together on the 20th.  He said we would make a day of it and go to lunch together and then wrap the presents together tonight when we got home.  I can’t tell you how excited I’ve been about this ever since he suggested it.  I think this may possibly be the most fun I’ve ever had Christmas shopping any year!  Even though I know the crowds are going to be awful today… I don’t mind.

So good luck to everyone with your last-minute or procrastinated Christmas shopping!  Have fun and remember Jesus is the real reason for the season. :-)

Bonus

So I got a Christmas bonus from work on this paycheck.  I wasn’t expecting to get anything considering the downturn in the automotive industry lately.  It was very small but still, it’s a bonus.  I’ll take whatever they’re willing to give me.  God is very good and has always blessed us financially and for that I am truly grateful!!!  Merry Christmas everyone!

Kicking Horse

So if our baby was an Indian, I think I would name her Kicking Horse.  She’s been kicking a LOT lately!  Yesterday was the first time I actually saw my belly move from her jostling around.  Pretty crazy.  I don’t think I could ever get used to having another human being inside of me.  It’s definitely a miracle and very cool but still so weird all at the same time.  Only 11 more weeks to go…

Home

My honey’s home!!!  Yippee! :-)

Tomorrow

Tomorrow is going to be a good day. :)
